Terms of Service

Last updated: February 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mailbox Taxi (“the Software”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”) and Mailbox Taxi (“Company,” “we,” “us”).

2. Description of Service

Mailbox Taxi is a desktop application that facilitates the migration of email messages between IMAP email servers. The Software runs entirely on your local machine and connects directly to email servers using the IMAP protocol. The Software does not route email data through any Company-operated servers.

3. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Software on devices you own or control, for personal or commercial use, in accordance with any applicable license tier you have purchased or been granted during early access.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree that you will:

  • Only use the Software with email accounts you own or have explicit authorization to access.
  • Provide accurate credentials when configuring email server connections.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and the terms of service of the email providers you connect to.
  • Not use the Software for unauthorized access to email accounts, data harvesting, spamming, or any other unlawful purpose.
  • Maintain the security of your own credentials and devices.

5. Data Handling & Privacy

Mailbox Taxi operates entirely on your local machine. Your email credentials, email content, and migration data are not transmitted to, stored on, or processed by any servers operated by the Company. You retain full ownership and responsibility for all data processed by the Software. For additional details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The Software, including its code, design, documentation, branding, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by the Company and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Software, nor may you reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Email migration involves inherent risks including but not limited to data loss, corruption, or incomplete transfers due to server-side limitations, network interruptions, or provider-specific restrictions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Company, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Software, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Third-Party Services

The Software connects to third-party email servers and services (such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and others). We are not responsible for the availability, security, or terms of service of these third-party providers. Your use of third-party services through the Software is subject to those providers' own terms and policies.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your license to use the Software at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and delete all copies from your devices. Sections 6, 7, 8, and 11 shall survive any termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may notify you through the Software or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Software after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
